Our next all church gathering and training day will be Saturday, August 20th.  We are privilege to have John White and Desi Starr from Denver House Church network facilitate this training time.  Please RSVP for this training, so we can provide adequate childcare and food.  The training will go from 1 pm – 9 pm on Saturday, August 20th (Dinner will be provided!).   This training will focus on what is church, listening and being led by the Holy Spirit, and growing as a family.  It is definitely a day that you will not want to miss!  You can RSVP by either email or calling me at 274-8500.  There will be no cost for the training, but we will take up an offering to help support John and Desi ministry!

RiverChurches 3rd Annual Camping Trip at Meadow Lake

July 15th – 17th

All individuals and families are invited to come camping and fishing at Meadow Lake in the Flat Top Wilderness.  Camping is free and is not in a designated camp ground. 

 
Please bring all of the necessary camping gear and food for you/your family.  You are welcome to come and go as you please. 

 
Meadow Lake is located in the Flat Top Wilderness. It is 25 miles north of New Castle, the main access is the Buford-New Castle Road, Forest Road 245 , to Forest Road 601, to Forest Road 823.  Approximately three miles before you get to the lake please look for the RiverChurches Sign.  This sign will be right off the main road that accesses Meadow Lake. 

 

(Tim Kearns will be going up one evening the week before our camping trip to reserve our campsite and set up some tents.  Please call Tim if you are available to help him do this at 230-0960.)

Upcoming Gatherings & Events

May/June 2011

·        Leadership House Church this Sunday, May 29th at 5:30 pm at Lee and Jana house in New Castle (591 E. Main Street).  Our food theme this Sunday will be Mexican, so please bring some food to share with everyone.



·        Prayer and Fasting for God’s Spirit to move in our region next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (May 31st – June 2nd).  Out of our early morning prayer time last Wednesday, Keith challenged us to fast and pray for three days next week.  Please consider joining us in this time of seeking the Lord.

 

·         RiverChurches Evangelism, Discipleship, and Vision Casting gathering for the summer will be on Sunday, June 5th from 3-6 pm at River Center (126 N. 4th Street).  If you are interested in learning more about making disciples in your neighborhood/work place along with developing some simple ways to share your testimony/gospel then please attend this training time.  We will revisit the vision God has given RiverChurches during this gathering as well!  Childcare will be provided at the Price family home during this gathering (591 E. Main Street). 

Our next couple leadership gatherings will be unday evenings, March 20th and 27th  at 5:30 pm at Eric and Carol Vaughan located at 266 Fieldstone Court in Silt.   Please contact Eric for directions and more information at 379-2550.

Womack’s had a baby girl and her name is Ruby Pearl.   Holly and baby are healthy and we praise God.   Give them a call sometime to let them know much you love them 309-8516.

Our next All Church Gathering will be on Saturday, April 2nd at 7 pm in the River Center.  Make plans to attend this gathering as we worship and hear what God is doing in Kotido, Uganda.  Please pray for Tim and Chera as they return home today and settle back into life in the States.


Prayer Requests

Mike and Karen Peppers at Feed My Sheep need our prayers as they see record numbers of homeless come into the Center.  Please pray for their health and strength.  Also, pray for a detox center to be open very soon in Glenwood Springs.

Please pray for all of our church planters as they minister in neighborhoods, workplaces, etc.  You can see many of their names on the RiverChurches website (www.riverchuches.org).  Especially be in prayer for Carlos and Ruth as they minister to the Latino people.  Please pray for Joe and Teressa Bianco who started a new house church this week in their home.   

Please pray for 24 more church planters to be raised up on the Western Slope of Colorado for 2011.

Please continue to pray for the River Center as we grow into meeting more needs in our community.  It is very exciting to see how we can serve our community and show God’s love to many people that are hurting right now.  Pray for $20,000 to be provided so that we can complete basement of the center.

Please pray for the missionaries from our valley in Uganda (Fulk Family, Williams Family, & Misty Kearns).   Kenneth has been sick with severe stomach pain, so please be in prayer for his healing.

A friend of mine challenged me about five years ago to pray Luke 10:2b on a daily basis.  Jesus tells us in this verse to "Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."   So I took the challenge seriously and prayed this prayer to the Lord of the harvest.  Guess what happened?  He answered it.  He is still answering it whenever I cry out to Him for laborers.  It seems to simple to be true, but it is true!  The Lord will build His Church and will raise up incredible laborers around you if you simply pray this prayer.  I have even taken this prayer to such an extreme more recently that I am praying for specific types of laborers.  This may sound a little selfish, but hear me out.  For example, we have been blessed over the last four years with many young people (laborers) attending and starting new churches.  The young people and young families have been awesome, but we began to ask God last fall to send some laborers our direction that were older/mature/elders our way.  Last night during our leadership gathering, God said look around the room.   I answered your prayer again.  There was a room full of leaders and over half of them had been walking with God for 25 - 50 years.  Wow, I told God He was incredible.  Thank you Lord for sending us wise, mature laborers who we can learn from and journey in this next season of RiverChurches.   My challenge to you is to pray Luke 10:2b daily and expect Jesus to answer it.
